Health Safety and the Environment
Health, Safety and the Environment are at the top of our agenda. The organisation is fully committed to promoting a safe working environment for its operatives and to others who may be affected either directly, or indirectly by our activities. We also take environmental issues seriously and therefore, assess our environmental impact in all our undertakings.
Our machine operatives are trained and certificated to CPCS or equivalent recognised training standards and hold an up to date SPA quarry safety passport. Machine training courses and assessments are delivered by local, external, independent competent training providers.
Anglian Excavations Limited management and supervisory staff are trained and qualified to NVQ Management Level 3 status.
The organisation benefits from employing its own in-house health, safety and environmental manager, to help drive and maintain compliance across the business. This also enables Anglian Excavations to be an accredited SPA quarry safety passport training provider, whereby courses are run to accommodate new employees and those who require refresher training.
Participation by our staff in safety initiatives promoted by our clients is mandatory. We undertake regular Site Safety Briefings and Toolbox Talks with all our operatives and employees, which are documented to reinforce local rules, procedures and new initiatives.
Working with multi national high profile companies requires a high standard of compliance, which is externally verified on an annual basis. As we continue to secure repeat business with these companies, we benefit from the opportunity to both explore and co-operate with their new initiatives and campaigns.
A pre-contract meeting and site assessment is carried out prior to any proposed start date. This enables Anglian Excavations to prepare the task Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS), which sets out the necessary control measures to mitigate any identified hazards and associated risks. The RAMS will also specify equipment to be used and the method adopted for the task. This is agreed by all parties and monitored during follow up inspections, to ensure that the procedures are being adhered to.
Anglian Excavations Limited is committed to carrying out its business in a manner which causes the minimum impact on the environment, and the fauna and flora that may be affected by its undertaking. With this in mind, the business has devised a comprehensive aspects and impacts register and closely works with its clients and the relevant local authorities, to minimise such impact.
Anglian Excavations are accredited by both Achilles and Avetta third party Health, Safety & Environmental accreditation schemes.
The organisation is conversant with The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, and capable of fulfilling the duties of a Principal Contractor.
